FC Motown Season

Written By David Pekarek

This season had many ups and downs. We went from competing in the National Final to losing in the Northeast Regional Semifinal. As we regroup and get ready for next season, I remember the moments that made this team special.

FC Motown is mostly made up of players that have full 9 to 5 jobs and play at a professional level. While it is remarkable to watch, the fact that the team can consistently play cohesively at such a high caliber, while still maintaining their individual obligations off the field is awe-inspiring. We defeat professional teams that train every day. The soccer skills and fitness these players have is top-notch.

I would say the most memorable moment of the season was winning the Keystone Conference Playoffs for the second time, against a talented Philadelphia Lone Stars team. Our players showed heart and gave everything they physically had til the final whistle. We communicated expertly and had each others back at all moments.

Some players from our team were fortunate to be drafted to professional teams, while others are still playing competitively. Great clubs learn from mistakes and build for the future. Thank you FC Motown for a great experience, looking forward to the next.
